We've all heard that Mass Timber offers an alternative to traditional materials used in construction, but is it a viable alternative? What is the cost to use it? What is the return on investment? Is there a demand? Our panel will examine the topic of Mass Timber from all angles - from development, design, construction and supply, to closing the deal on a lease. We will answer your ‘why’.
Join us on October 19th to hear about recent experiences with Mass Timber from the experts who are on the front lines of this emerging construction type.

Chair Wheeler takes questions from the NAIOP members at luncheon.
Please join us on June 30 for a members only "Lunch with Ann Wheeler, Chair-at-Large of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors.” Elected in the 2019 General Election, as the first Democratic board chair since 1999, she took office in January, 2020 as one of five newly elected board members of the eight-person board. We met virtually with Chair Wheeler in September 2020 to introduce NAIOP and to see how Prince William was handling the pandemic but also the political changes in the County. Now that we can meet in person, it is a good time to see how Prince William has weathered the past two years.
As Virginia’s second-most populous county with almost 500,000 residents, Prince William County continues to grow at a rapid rate. While Pathway to 2040 is taking a great deal of input and focus, the County continues to move forward on other topics such as data centers, distribution facilities, housing development, housing affordability, equity issues in growth, transportation topics and possibly a sports destination. The Board recently adopted the FY23 Budget which included a 10% reduction in the real estate tax rate, a 10% increase in the business tangible computer and peripheral tax rate and implementation of a meals tax. And, the NAIOP Research Foundation also recently released a report which placed Prince William County Department of Development Services sixth in a nationwide Development Approvals Index study. It is an exciting time in the County.
